Spanish verbs Quedar and Faltar meaning "time remaining"
This post is somewhat related to the post "Tardar" meaning "to take time" but here, instead of talking about how long it takes to do something, we're discussing how much time is left in order to complete doing something. Some examples will illustrate the point:
English
1. We'll arrive in Seattle in two hours. (we're on a bus, train, plane, etc.)
2. The plan will be presented in two days.
3. The wedding will take place in three weeks.
4. Only one day left at this special price!
Spanish
1. Quedan / Faltan dos horas para llegar a Seattle.
2. Quedan / Faltan dos días para presentar el plan.
3. Quedan / Faltan tres semanas para la boda.
4. ¡Sólo queda un día para esta oferta!
Please keep in mind that I'm presenting the "Quedar / Faltar" translations as one possible translation since that is the point I want to get across in this post. Alternative translations could be:
