StartSpanish is for you if:
you want to learn Spanish from the beginning, or
you'd like to review your Spanish and quickly get back on track.
It contains brief yet comprehensive explanations (with examples) about all of the most important parts of Spanish grammar, combined with exercises to help you get a firm grip on the language.
You are not overwhelmed with masses of new vocabulary in the program, so that you can concentrate on learning one thing at a time. If you already have a certain level of Spanish and want to expand your vocabulary and work on your listening and pronunciation, then our Spanish Whiz program is ideal for you.
To take full advantage of StartSpanish, you should:
Read the explanations in the order that they are presented
Try to get a good score on the quizzes before going on to the next section
The subjects in the section called General Topics will get you started on some of the basic nuts and bolts of the language. When you get to the Verbs section, you will be able to start putting everything together and make sentences.
The topics are best seen in full-screen mode.
When doing the exercises, remember to fill in the full form in English: for example, type in 'I am' and 'you are' instead of 'I'm' and 'you're'. These last two will be counted as incorrect. Also, pay attention to the special instructions that will appear just above the place where you type in your answers. Sometimes those instructions are necessary in order to know how to answer the question correctly.
After you finish the StartSpanish course, you should be prepared to go onto more in-depth computer programs that will help you to learn Spanish, such as Spanish Whiz. Have a look at our website at:
