El or La
Most of the nouns in Spanish end in o -- 'masculine' nouns -- or in a -- 'feminine' nouns. 'El libro' and 'la mesa' are typical examples. But there are a number of nouns that don't end in 'o' or in 'a', like el coche or la flor. You need to know whether the words are masculine or feminine in order to know whether it's correct to say unos coches rojos or unas coches rojas. After practicing with the El or La exercise, we hope you will choose to say unos coches rojos.
You just have to practice and learn most of these words. However, there are a couple of tricks:
Words ending in -ción and -sión are always feminine:
la canción la nación la tensión la estación
Words ending in -ad are almost always feminine:
la universidad la dificultad la ciudad la amistad
