Getting Started
The following are suggestions on how to use the program. They are especially valid for beginners and people who only know a few words of Spanish, but can be adapted to anyone's level. By following these steps, you will gain a basic knowledge of Spanish grammar which will enable you to take full advantage of the vocabulary building aspects of Spanish Whiz:
1. Study the topics under the Menu item Tutor. For example, if the present tense of the verbs is new to you, read that topic, take notes on the verb endings, and then:
2. Begin practicing the Multiple Choice section of that topic. Use a dictionary to look up the meanings of verbs that are new to you. If you consistently can't remember the meaning or correct forms of certain words, jot them down and make your own Personal Lists so you can have some intensive, specialized practice on those hard-to-learn words.
3. When you feel more confident, go on to the Fill In Questions on the same topic. The Fill In Questions are by nature more difficult than the Multiple Choice ones. Once again, if you find you have difficulties remembering certain words, make your own Personal List with them.
4. Additionally , you can listen to the verb forms (or vocabulary pertaining to any other topic you are trying to learn) in the Sound section. Listening to the words and reading them on the screen at the same time will help you remember them.
